Not only in technical vacancies: across the whole sample. And four role families appear that barely existed three years ago.

  • Prompt EngineerTechnical. Presented as past its peak: prompting is folding into every role.
  • AI Product OwnerTechnical and business. Translates AI possibilities into products and processes.
  • AI CoachOrganisational. Helps teams adopt AI in daily work.
  • AI Governance and Ethics OfficerOrganisational. Decides what is allowed, and makes sure it is followed.
Two of the four roles are not technical. Employers are hiring for the governance gap, not only the skills gap.

Since September 2026 we count AI skills, roles and tools in all job postings on Adzuna, for the Netherlands and Belgium and ten sectors. Each skill has one fixed English key phrase, so months stay comparable.
